Deals are a great way to manage your sales pipeline whether you’re in the office, or on the road meeting with clients. You can set up and manage your pipeline from the web-based version, and then execute on deals and move them throughout the various stages of your sales cycle.
Managing your Deals on Web
If you don’t have a pipeline set up, click the “Add Deal Pipeline” button.
Next, enter a title followed by the stages of your sales cycle.
Let’s take a look at a sample Sales Pipeline, in this example, we start off with a “lead”. This is where we can house all of the potential clients we could do business with. Once the lead is qualified, we perform a needs analysis. The information gathered in the needs analysis helps us issue an estimate which is then followed by a proposal. If all goes right, we can mark the deal as accepted. The final step is to follow up with the client and then mark the deal as closed.
Editing the order of your pipeline can be done by dragging and dropping for easy stage management. If you want to add more deal stages, click "Add Another Deal Stage". If you want to remove deal stages, simply click the “x” button on the respective deal. Once complete, click “Save Deal Pipeline” and you’re good to go!
Now that our pipeline is set-up, we can dive into the “Deals” interface. We first see a map that shows where the sales action is taking place, this map can be colorized according to deal stage by clicking “Colorize” in the upper right. You can also utilize the heat map to show where your sales resources are being allocated.
If we scroll down, we’ll see our pipeline. Each stage shows the number of deals active and the potential revenue from closing the deal. This allows for more detailed forecasting so you can really dial in your expectations on reaching sales goals. To add a deal, click the green “Add Deal” button and Outfield will ask you to fill in information pertinent to the deal. Input the name, value, Team Member, stage, the customer account and contact if applicable, and then any general notes that should be kept in mind for this particular deal. Click save and you’ll see the deal populate in your pipeline.
To move the deal to the next stage, simply drag and drop to wherever it needs to go! If you need to edit or delete a deal, click the Settings gear that appears if you hover over the deal.
Managing your Deals on Mobile
In Outfield, Deals are directly tied with Locations and Contacts, so if we want to add in a deal, we need to tap on an account. To add a deal, tap “more” and then “Add deal”. Input the same information we did earlier on the web based version. Once complete, tap save and you’re done!
Now, a green deals section will show up on that location or contact. To edit information about the deal or to delete it, tap the green section that reads the name and value. To move the deal forward or backward in the pipeline, tap the gray section and then select the appropriate stage.
