Via Entry:
- Login to Your Outfield Account Using Your Credentials
- Navigate to Products & Inventory Section: Click on "Products & Inventory" in the left-hand sidebar to manage your product listings.
- Add a New Product: Click the "+ Add Product" button to create a new product entry.
- Enter Product Details:
- Product Name: Enter the product name for easy identification.
- Product Category: Choose an appropriate category from the dropdown menu to organize your products.
- Product Variation:
- Label: Provide a unique label for each variation of the product.
- Description: Write a detailed description of the product variation.
- SKU (Stock Keeping Unit): Enter the SKU for inventory tracking.
- Internal Cost: Record the internal cost for better profit margin analysis.
- Price: Set the selling price of the product.
- Quantity: Enter the quantity on hand and available for sale.
- Low Stock Alerts: Configure alerts to notify you when stock is running low.
- Custom Fields: Add custom fields to include additional information specific to your product.
- Save Your Product:
- After entering all necessary details, click the "Save" button to add the product to your inventory.
Via Import:
- Navigate to the Products & Inventory section: From the main menu on the left, click on "Products & Inventory"
- Access the Products page: You'll see a "Products" header with options to search, add products, and import/export.
- Import products or inventory:
- For new product catalogs or updates, click "Import Products"
- To update inventory counts, click "Import Inventory"
- When importing products and inventory keep in mind that they follow the specified format with columns for Record Type, Product Name, Description, Variation Label, SKU, Quantity, Cost, Price, and any custom fields as needed.
Differentiation Between Product Category and Product Variation
- Product Category:
- Broad classification of products to improve organization.
- Examples: Electronics, Clothing, Paper Products.
- Helps manage and search for products within large inventories.
- Product Variation:
- Specific attributes or options within a product category.
- Examples: Size, Color, Model Variations.
- Essential for tracking different versions and options
